Chiefs' Isiah Pacheco Accepts New Expectations As RB Starter | ESPN
Pacheco's expectations were higher. He took a notebook after being summoned and wrote down some things that he wanted to achieve, not necessarily as a rookie. On this list: make the team, take the team to the run, help the Chiefs win asuper bowl.
“It happened so fast and for me, I didn't expect it, but I dreamed about it, working to get here,” he said. “I am not surprised that hard work has brought me here. I'm surprised it happened so fast.
“It means the absolute world to me. Especially when you write in your notes what your goals are and then come back to them. For me, I'm going to go back to them, take that pen and go through them.
2023 NFL Draft first round trades: Which teams should move up, move down? | ESPN
31Kansas City Chiefs
What they should do:Negotiate.
Let's end with the defending champions, who have tended to be aggressive going up in the first round in recent seasons, with Patrick Mahomes (2017) being the most famous example. Last year, the Chiefs jumped from No. 29 to No. 21 to defeat cornerback Trent McDuffie in a trade with the Patriots. The two teams then met again for a second-round trade, but this time it was the Patriots who moved on receiver Tyquan Thornton. The Chiefs got their own wide receiver in Skyy Moore.
Kansas City general manager Brett Veach & Co. may be looking for another receiver this time around, but I wonder if this is the draft they're targeting for the player who ends up being Travis Kelce's long-term replacement. The future Hall of Famer is doing virtually unprecedented things for a tight end in his early 30s, but he finally has to slow down. Adding a second playmaker at tight end will only help an offense that loved playing 12-man games a season ago.
The Chiefs can sit tight and take a tight end without a doubt, but they do have a particular affinity for Michael Mayer (Our lady) or Dalton Kincaid (Utah), they may need to move up a few points to beat the Jags (No. 24) and Cowboys (No. 26) at full strength.

6. Juan Ross III (2017)
Two years later, theCincinnati's Bengalsshe understandably fell for John Ross III and his electrifying speed.
See AlsoNFL Draft 2023: Top 9 safetiesRoss dazzled in Washington, scoring 17 touchdowns in 2016 and returning four points early in his career. He followed that up with a 4.22-second 40-yard dash at the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine.
Cincinnati managed to ninth overall, but Ross literally struggled from the start. He gave up the first touchdown of his career and spent most of the year as a healthy scratch. Ross showed his potential in 2018 and 2019, but injuries marred those seasons and the 2020 campaign.
Ross played in 27 of a possible 64 games with the Bengals before declining his fifth-year option. He had 51 receptions for 733 yards and 10 touchdowns in his four seasons.
Like White, Ross is still an active player, but basically just looking to hold on to a roster spot.
Broncos defender says team is ready to play at a high level in 23 | The Kansas City Star
Despite recent difficulties, Burton believes the Broncos can compete for the postseason in 2023.
“I'm very excited about this opportunity in Denver,” Burton said. “I've played for Coach Peyton before, so I've seen firsthand what a great coach he is and how he does a good job building a team culture.

Kansas City Chiefs Mock NFL Draft: 10 Picks From KC April 27-29 | The Kansas City Star
RONDA 2 (63): DT MAZIE SMITH, MICHIGAN
The Chiefs keep the defense here, solidifying the inside of their defensive line. Smith drew comparisons to former Chiefs defensive lineman Dontari Poe.
The 6-foot-1, 337-pound Smith is currently projected as a second-round pick, so this would be an ideal spot to pick up the former Wolverine if he's on the board. He had 88 tackles, including six for losses, in college.
Smith's ability to hit the middle as a complementary piece alongside Chris Jones would give opponents headaches. The Chiefs have brought back defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi on a one-year contract for the second straight offseason, but a long-term solution is needed here.
Smith fits the bill. And if Poe's comparisons are accurate, he imagines the fun Chiefs coach Andy Reid might have created new editions of "Hungry Pig Right" and "Bloated Tebow" with Smith in mind.

There were those who thought Harrison might return to Oklahoma on an NIL deal that was too good to pass up, but he opted for the NFL. He is one of the best tackles in the class and now the question is whether he will make it to Round 1 or earlier on Day 2.
The Ringer's 2023 NFL Draft Team Needs | The bell
TEAM NEEDS
Overboard, long receiver
What do you get for your friend who has everything? The Chiefs just won their second Super Bowl in three games in the last four seasons. If Kansas City has a weakness, it's their depth at receiver and in the trenches. JuJu Smith-Schuster left in free agency, and neither Skyy Moore nor second-round pick Kadarius Toney played more than half the snaps in a game for the Chiefs last season. Kansas City also lost its two starting offensive tackles, Orlando Brown Jr. and Andrew Wylie. Jawaan Taylor signed a great deal to replace Brown on the left side while Lucas Niang took over at right tackle, but adding depth would be wise. Ditto for defense. Defensive ends George Karlaftis and Charles Omenihu are the projected starters after the Chiefs released Frank Clark, but you can't have too many pass-rushers trying to pass.Playoffs yes AFC.

Agent - Jalen Carter will only visit the top 10 teams | ESPN
Georgia defensive tackle Jalen Carter is refusing visits from any team selected outside the top 10 in this month's NFL draft, agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Carter plans to visit thechicago bears, who will choose ninth place, on Monday. This will be his second visit after visiting thephiladelphia eagles, who has the tenth pick.
"I'm sure Jalen will be in the top 10," Rosenhaus told Schefter. "He is a good person, a family man, he loves football and he is a generational talent."

Chiefs NFL Draft 2023: Michigan DT Mazi Smith could fit in Kansas City
Intangible
Standing at six feet tall and weighing 337 pounds, Smith can be described as acarry. In the NFL, players of this size (think Brandon Williams) are often used to fill holes and gobble up space, competing against double teams and remaining stalwarts in the line of scrimmage.
But while Smith certainly has plenty of size, he also possesses an athletic skill set that few men his size possess.
—Zach Shaw (@_ZachShaw)August 10, 2022I connected the numbers reported here with Mazi Smith at@MathBombThe RAS machine (compared to Combine participants from 1987) and Smith's propaganda train left the station.
(I used powerlifting websites to convert 22*325 on the bench to 44*225 so maybe not perfect)pic.twitter.com/BhCWcYj5jR
While the athletic test isn't the end of all defensive tackles, wide jumps and vertical jumps are still important. These tests help quantify how effectively a player can generate force through the ankles, knees, hips, and core muscles from a static position, which is similar to coming out of stance after a snap.
Smith's test numbers were superior to many defensive tackles who have ever played in the game, and all the power and explosiveness the test suggests comes through in his movie.
